Our Little Trip

I t is absolutely amazing how fast things can change. We decided to go away for a week. It was summer when we left and autumn when we returned. Everything is so beautiful. I really do miss the beauty of Indiana this time of the year. I know why we are called the evergreen state. Because we are. The pine trees are beautiful but I miss all the fall colors of home. We do see some of the most amazing sights in winter, though. It was a very nice trip. I have decided that I am so thankful not to live in, or around, a large city. We had to drive (I use the term loosely) through Portland 3 times and that was 3 times too many. I LOOOVE my GPS!! I have named the voice Matilda. She was such a help the whole trip, but especially in Portland.
We got to have a very nice visit with our daughter Diana and her husband, Rob. They have a very comfortable home just south of Sun River. The weather was beautiful and the food fantastic. Diana is a very good cook. We had some real challenges in our games of dominoes, but I think I am improving. I hope to get a good picture of Diana and Rob. If so, I will post it.
We went to Medford OR which is almost to California. It was a great little drive, and we visited the temple there. Their building is the same as ours here in Spokane. It was nice to visit with the workers there. The Portland Temple is much larger. It is so beautiful and elegant. I guess I'm more used to the smaller temples now and have grown to love them. Dan wants to visit all of the Temples he can, but they build them so fast now, I don't think he'll ever see them all.
Our grandson Vincent did not know it but he loaned us his Cadillac to travel in. It did a wonderful job. We were so happy to have a safe trip. The car did a real good job. Let us not forget the GPS . I am so glad we had it. I told Dan we are getting so much hi tech stuff we need a travel case just for it. Let's see, cell phone and cords, digital camera and battery charger, gps and cords, etc. etc. etc.
Well, this my first attempt to post. I know I will improve. I am trying to stay in tune with the world. It is really hard sometimes. Now, I have to learn how to do pictures. They say you learn something new everyday. That is an understatement.
